Puppy's first days and nights

So you are about to bring your brand new pup home - how exciting. They grow up so fast and learn so much in the first days, weeks and months that sometimes it's hard to keep up.

In the following group of blogs I will be sharing some tips to help you and your pup work towards settling into living together in harmony.

It is important to ask and answer questions about how you want your life to be with your new companion from puppyhood and throughout their life. Ask these questions before you get your pup so that you can be prepared; however it is also okay to change what you do if you find it doesn't work the way you thought it would.

I'll try and cover as many subjects as possible as often what you do in the first days and weeks will help set you and your pup up for an easy companionable life. I've been teaching puppy classes for over 30 years and have raised a few of my own pups over a more than 40 year period. I've learnt some things the hard way and others the easy way; a lot of the advice I am sharing is from what people in my classes and behaviour consults ask me the most.

Topics will include:

Sleeping arrangements

Separation

Feeding

Play
