One or our meadow users figured they had more use for the tap fitting than i did. Such a shame as it deters me from providing items for everyone else's pleasure. So for now there is no hose for you or i to be able to use, unless of course whoever took it has now finished with it's use and brings it back.

Hi With the rain comes softer and softer ground, which has meant the ground getting churned up by vehi les or nvehciles getting stuck. Until the ground recovers or is hard enougb we have roped off the access for vehicles to get up to or near the big meadow (8 acre field) gate. Please do not try to drive under or over the rope even if you have a 4wd. Please try to park on the hardcore or at least leave your drive wheels on the hardcore so as not to get stuck, the ground is deceivingly soft. The orange cones along the rope line indicate where there are gaps for your to walk through. Cheers Karen

For big meadow users - Just letting you now that the sheep are back in the far end field only. As long as the gate is closed between the centre field and the far field (and the sheep are not in the centre field) you may still walk your dogs in both the first and centre field. Once the sheep are also using the centre field (they get rotated between those two fields) then we will once again lock the gate between the first two fields.

Hi We currently have a planning application in with Guildford Borough Council to change the use of the two single acre paddocks from agricultural to recreational specifically for dog daycare/walk ing and dog training. We are not looking at changing it for the 8 acre meadow as this is still considered agricultural as we take hay off of it – we will still have use of it though. We need letters of support and would really love it if you could put a comment against the planning application to such effect. The planning application number is 20/P/01359 under the Guildford Borough Council planning applications or copy the following address you’re your web browser bar: https://www2.guildford.gov.uk/publicaccess/applicationDetails.do?keyVal=_GUILD_DCAPR_191720&activeTab=summary The comments for neighbourhood consultation ends this coming Tuesday 8th September 2020 so anything needs to be in by then. It would be lovely if in your comment you gave support due but not limited to: · Beautiful part of Surrey · Wonderful facility for helping teach our dogs/puppies in a safe environment – great for society. · Perhaps after class/field use you might frequent the local environs and/or spend money in the local area. · For class members: maybe a comment on ho w lovely and quiet the classes are. · For field users – do you enjoy the peace and quiet (apart from dogs that walk the byway behind the field or from the kennels past the farm opposite)? · Great facility for being able to relax in while teaching a dog recall or to let them burn energy without getting into social challenges. · No need to counter the objections; just rave about the positives and what a great part of the country/county it is etc. Any comment of support is appreciated. No problem if you don’t end up doing it. Cheers Karen

Hi Just to let everyone know we are needing to remove the portaloo for a while - this will happen on Monday 13th July. There are toilets located at the pubs in West Horsley and the Shell Service Station in East Horsley or public ones in Ripley. Sorry for the inconvenience. Karen

The water butt have been filled but we are waiting on the farmer to bring them back. However we now have water pumped on-site. There is a blue hose with a tap at the end that you can use which is situated to the left as you first come in to the facility. Please make sure you turn the tap off when finished and if you have others doing it for you please double check. We don't want to waste water. Thanks

We have now finished fencing the big meadow. Fencing is stock fencing to a height of somewhere between 4.5foot and 5foot, difference is dependant on lay of the land. It has also been split into 3 areas of roughly 8 acres each as we need to keep 1 for sheep. However we will try to make sure that the closest area with the pond in it remains sheep free so that those dogs that are prone to chowing down on sheep dung have a dung free area. Over the next few days (probably weeks) we will update the website to reflect all the changes so keep checking back.

Just a reminder to ensure that the main gate is always closed behind you (whether you are coming or going); and locked up if you are the last to leave. Have had a few instances where members are so full of the joys of spring and their walk that they have driven off in a state of contentment and forgotten to shut and/or lock the gate behind them.

We are starting the process of fencing the meadow in proper stock fencing which will ensure the dogs have a much more secure and bigger place to play, it will also ensure that the clever escaping sheep will be confined to a smaller area from where they cannot escape! Please bear with us during this project, hopefully once under way it won't take too long.

Hi Everyone, hoping that over time we will use this forum to keep you informed of what's going on at The Meadow. And also for you to be able to connect with other members of Woofers. Maybe it can be used to let others know if you want to walk with someone else, perhaps if you've cancelled a slot at the last minute that someone else may now be able to use, ideas for the future of The Meadow and similar posts. Please feel free to contribute - remember to play nicely - just like The Meadow is a happy place for us and our dogs this forum needs to be a happy place too. The Team @ Its The Dogs
